Beacita is a drug whose active ingredient is orlistat. Treatment should not exceed 6 months. It should not be used in patients with chronic malabsorption syndrome, concurrent treatment with ciclosporin or warfarin or other oral anticoagulants. It should not be taken if you are allergic to orlistat or any of the excipients.
Beacita is a drug whose active ingredient is orlistat and is indicated for people with a body mass index, BMI ≥ 28 kg/m2, which should be combined with a low-calorie, low-fat diet.
Intended for use in adults over 18 years of age.
The recommended dosage is one 60 mg capsule three times a day and should not be exceeded. It is recommended that it be accompanied by a low-calorie diet and exercise. It is advisable to start a diet and exercise programme before starting treatment. While taking orlistat, the patient should follow a nutritionally balanced diet, in which approximately 30% of calories come from fat. Treatment should not exceed 6 months.
This medicine should not be taken if you are allergic to orlistat or any of the excipients. During pregnancy and lactation, its use is contraindicated.
Patients with chronic malabsorption syndrome, concurrent treatment with ciclosporin, patients with cholestasis and concurrent treatment with warfarin or other oral anticoagulants should not use it.
Most of the common side effects (e.g. gas with or without oily spotting, more frequent stools and loose stools) are the result of its mechanism of action, so high-fat foods should be avoided.
Serious side effects: severe allergic reaction, rectal bleeding, diverticulitis, pancreatitis, skin blisters, hepatitis and oxalate nephropathy.
The active substance is orlistat. Each hard capsule contains 60 mg of orlistat.

This medicine is widely used for weight loss as it accelerates the slimming process. It is important to follow the instructions on the package leaflet and not to take it if you do not eat any fats at any meal, e.g. fruit breakfast, as it only acts on the absorption of fats.
It is not recommended to take it with very fatty meals as the side effects will be accentuated.
