Who is Alli 60 mg intended for? Alli 60 mg 84 capsules is indicated for adults aged 18 years and over with a BMI of 28 kg/m² or above who wish to lose weight and are willing to combine the treatment with a moderately low-calorie, low-fat diet. Before starting to take Alli containing orlistat, it is recommended that you begin a suitable diet and exercise programme that you can maintain throughout the course of treatment. How should Alli 60 mg be taken? The recommended dose is one Alli 60 mg capsule three times a day. The capsule should be taken immediately before, during or up to one hour after each main meal. If a meal is missed or contains no fat, the corresponding dose of Alli should not be taken. Whilst taking orlistat, you should follow a nutritionally balanced, moderately low-calorie diet, ensuring that approximately 30 per cent of your calories come from fat. Your daily intake of fat, carbohydrates and protein should be spread across your three main meals. No more than 3 x 60 mg capsules should be taken per day, and treatment with Alli should not continue for longer than 6 months. Contraindications for Alli Alli 60 mg must not be used: If you are allergic to orlistat or any of the medicine’s ingredients. During pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding.
