Elimens is a medicine in capsule form containing orlistat, an active ingredient that is very useful in slimming processes for people with a body mass index (BMI) of 28 kg/m2 or more.
It is important to know that the use of this drug should be combined with a slightly low-calorie, low-fat diet.

Suitable for use by those over 18 years of age.
Take 1 capsule of 60 mg, 3 times a day, with each main meal. It should be borne in mind that this amount should never be exceeded.
Treatment should be accompanied by a low-calorie diet and sport. For this reason, it is recommended to start a diet and exercise programme before starting to take Elimens as, for the drug to be effective, the patient must follow a diet in which around 30% of calories come from fat.
The maximum duration of treatment should not exceed 6 months.
Do not use Elimens:
In children under 18 years of age.
In case of allergy to orlistat or any of the excipients present in this medicine.
In people with chronic malabsorption syndrome orcholestasis.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
If you are undergoing simultaneous treatment with ciclosporin, warfarin or other oral anticoagulants.
Elimens may cause side effects, as with all medicines on the market. This does not mean that all people will experience side effects.
In any case, most of the problems associated with orlistat are the result of its mechanism of action, which is why excessively fatty foods should be avoided.
Very common: loose stools, sudden bowel movements, oily or greasy stools, and gas with or without oily spotting.
Frequent: abdominal pain, anxiety, faecal incontinence, more frequent, fluid or liquid stools.
Serious: severe allergic reaction, rectal bleeding, skin blisters, pancreatitis, diverticulitis, oxalate nephropathy and hepatitis.
Each Elimens hard capsule contains 60 mg of orlistat as the main active substance.
