Regaine is a medicine whose active ingredient is minoxidil, which acts by revitalising the hair follicle, stabilising hair loss and making it grow back. It is used for androgenic alopecia in men.
It is aimed at men over 18 years of age who suffer from alopecia problems of androgenic origin.
Women should not use it unless prescribed by a doctor.
The dosage is as follows: apply 1 gram(half a capful) twice a day to the scalp, massaging gently with the fingertips. Wash hands before and after use, avoiding touching other parts of the body.
Apply skin foam directly to the scalp twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. Regaine is easy to use, does not stain and dries quickly:
For adults, two applications per day, each with 1 gram of foam.
The effects of this treatment may take 8 to 16 weeks to appear under normal conditions.
You may experience increased hair loss during the first few weeks of using the foam. This is usually a sign that the treatment is working well and that thefollicles are starting to grow new hair.
Do not use Regaine foam:
Under 18 years of age.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
In case of allergy to minoxidil or to any of the excipients present in this medicine.
On areas of the body other than the scalp.
If you suffer from heart or circulatory disease, unless prescribed by a doctor.
On scalp with wounds, inflammation or other damage.
In sudden or atypical hair loss.
As with all medicines,side effects may occur. Specifically, the following have been observed:
Frequent: severe itching, skin rash, headache, difficulty breathing, excessive hair growth.
Uncommon: nausea.
Other effects of unknown frequency: vomiting, eye irritation, temporary hair loss, changes in hair colour or texture, reactions at the site of administration (itching, irritation, rash, swelling, dermatitis...).
Each gram of Regaine foam contains 50 mg of minoxidil as the main active ingredient. The other excipients are: anhydrous ethanol, purified water, butylated hydroxytoluene (E321), lactic acid, anhydrous citric acid, glycerol, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60 and propane/butane/isobutane (propellant).
Thanks to its foam formulation, it is less messy on the hair and easier to apply.
Visible results usually appear within 2 to 4 months. If no results are observed after 4 months of use, discontinue treatment.
