REGAINE

What is Regaine and what does it do?

Regaine is a medicine used to treat hereditary hair loss in men, also called androgenic alopecia. This brand can be found under two names: Regaine, as it is known in Spain, and Rogaine, its US version.

Minoxidil is the generic name of the brand's active ingredient, which has a high scientific efficacy in treating hair loss.

How does it work?

This product, applied topically to the scalp, directly stimulates the follicle, providing it with the essential nutrients for thicker, stronger hair. This is achieved thanks to minoxidil 5%, which stimulates and prolongs the growth phase while preventing hair loss in patients with androgenetic alopecia.

This type of baldness causes hair follicles to be progressively lost, reducing the hair growth cycle. Thanks to minoxidil, blood flow is increased, stimulating the follicles to switch to the growth phase.

Who can use it?

Regaine is specially formulated for use in men suffering from androgenic alopecia, a type of alopecia of genetic origin.

Although this medication is available over the counter in pharmacies, it should be recommended by a doctor once it has been determined that the cause of the alopecia is androgenic.

How long does Regaine® take to work?

Although the time may vary, the results obtained in clinical studies show that the visible effects begin to appear after eight weeks of using REGAINE® skin foam. However, it should be noted that it can take up to 16 weeks to become noticeable.

How is it used?

Apply Regaine® twice a day, morning and evening, allowing approximately 12 hours between each application.

Who cannot use it?

Its use is contraindicated in patients with heart problems or under antihypertensive treatment.

What does Regaine contain?

The active ingredients in this product include Minoxidil, with a concentration of 5% to stabilise hair loss and stimulate hair growth.

In addition, each gram of skin foam contains 1 mg of butylated hydroxytoluene, 5.30 mg of stearyl alcohol and 11.60 mg of cetyl alcohol. For a full list of excipients see section 6.1.
