Prolivet is a liver protector for medium-sized dogs used as a supplement for the treatment of inflamed liver in dogs.
Its formula helps to maintain liver function thanks to silybin, the most abundant and active component of marine silybin, an extract from the fruit of milk thistle (Silybum maria num).
Silybin neutralises free radicals, thus protecting liver cells against oxidative damage. It also inhibits the binding of toxins, as well as the production of leukotrienes, which are involved in the inflammatory response.
Phosphatidylcholine is the main precursor/metabolite of choline, and the main constituent of bloodstream lipoproteins and cell membranes. It is also the major constituent of bile, and plays a key role in mitochondrial energy transformation and the elimination of waste products from cellular metabolism.
