Prolivet Maintenance of liver function in small dogs and cats.
PROLIVET is a complementary food for dogs and cats that helps maintain liver function. Silybin is the most abundant and active component of marine sili, an extract from the fruit of the milk thistle (Silybum maria num).
Silybin neutralises free radicals, thus protecting liver cells against oxidative damage. It also inhibits the binding of toxins, as well as the production of leukotrienes, which are involved in the inflammatory response. Phosphatidylcholine is the main precursor/metabolite of choline, and the main constituent of bloodstream lipoproteins and cell membranes. It is also the major constituent of bile, and plays a key role in mitochondrial energy transformation and in the elimination of waste products from cellular metabolism.
