Vaginal cream for the treatment of uncomplicated vulvovaginal candidiasis.

It is a medicine in the form of a cream for the external vaginal area formulated with clotrimazole, an antifungal that acts against infections caused by fungi. More specifically, it treats vulvovaginal candidiasis, a type of infection caused by a fungus commonly called Candida, by relieving the symptoms.
Common symptoms of candidiasis include itching, increased vaginal discharge, pain and redness of the vaginal and vulvar area, burning sensation when urinating and burning.
Intended for use in women and adolescents over 12 years of age who suffer from vulvovaginal candidiasis.
Apply a small amount of cream to the applicator included in the pack and insert deeply into the vagina, preferably at night, lying on your back with your legs slightly bent. A single application is usually sufficient.
The use of tampons, spermicides, intravaginal douches or other products while using this medicine is not recommended. Treatment should also not be started during menstruation.
Do not use Gine-Canesten:
- If you are under 12 years of age.
- In case of allergy or hypersensitivity to clotrimazole, imidazoles or any of the other ingredients included in this medicine.
Gine-Canesten cream may cause side effects, as is the case with other medicines, which does not mean that everyone will suffer from them :
- Irritation of the genital area, itching, rash, scaling, burning.
- Edema, erythema, pelvic pain, vaginal discomfort, vaginal bleeding.
- Abdominal pain.
- Allergic reactions such as urticaria, hypotension, difficulty breathing or syncope.
Each gram of Gine-Canestén cream contains 100 mg of clotrimazole as the main active ingredient. The other excipients are: Sorbitan stearate, polysorbate 60, cetyl palmitate, cetostearyl alcohol, isopropyl myristate, benzyl alcohol and purified water.
Ginecanesten vaginal cream is an antifungal medicine used for the treatment of uncomplicated vulvaginal candidiasis that relieves typical symptoms such as itching, excessive discharge or itching during urination.
To use it, it is recommended that you lie on your back with your legs slightly bent. Then introduce the cream deeply using the cannula provided. The best time to do this is at night, so that the medicine can work for as long as possible and be more effective.
