Espididol 400 mg, 18 Film-coated Tablets

Espididol 400 mg is a medicine in tablet form indicated to relieve painful symptoms of mild to moderate intensity such as headache, menstrual pain, joint pain, muscle pain, among others. In addition, it is also used for feverish conditions.

It comes in a convenient pack of 18 coated tablets.

Its use is specially formulated for adults and those over 12 years of age.

For adults over 12 years of age, take 1 tablet every 6-8 hours respectively, without exceeding 1200 mg of ibuprofen / 24 hours. It should be taken on a full stomach with food.

In patients with impaired renal, cardiac or hepatic function, a doctor should be consulted for possible dose adjustment.

Espididol 400 mg tablets are contraindicated in the following cases:

• In patients with recurrent gastrointestinal ulcer, history of gastrointestinal bleeding, severe cardiac insufficiency, hepatic and renal insufficiency.
• In case of allergy to ibuprofen or other excipients contained in this medicine, as well as in patients with asthma, rhinitis, angioedema or nasal polyps.
• Contraindicated in the third trimester of pregnancy.
• Special care should be taken in patients with hypertension, as it may increase blood pressure.
• Special care should be taken if taking any of the following medicines, and consult a doctor before administration:
  Baclofen, chloramphenicols, loop diuretics, antihypertensives, hydantoin, tacrolimus, furosemide, methotrexate, pentoxifylline, hypoglycaemic agents, among others.
• Herbal extracts such as Ginkgo biloba may also interfere, as they may increase the risk of bleeding from NSAIDs.
• Avoid alternate use with salicylates such as salicylic acid and its derivatives due to risk of haemorrhage.
• May infrequently lead to thrombocytopenia, leukopenia and haemolytic anaemia.
• May infrequently cause asthma, allergic reactions such as bronchospasm, rhinitis, asthma, oedema, dyspnoea, heart failure, visual disturbances, hypertension, among others.
• More frequently, it may cause headaches, skin rash and itching, as well as gastrointestinal discomfort, dyspepsia and vomiting.

Each tablet of Espididol contains Ibuprofen 400 mg as the active substance. The other excipients are: Sucrose 6.7 mg, Sodium 82.7 mg, Sodium hydrogencarbonate, Crospovidone Magnesium stearate, Hypromellose (E464), Sucrose, Titanium dioxide (E171), Macrogol 4000.

If you have any type of muscular pain, pain due to sprained ankle, contracture, or pain due to inflammatory or dental processes, take 1 tablet or half a tablet of Espididol every 6-8 hours, without exceeding the maximum daily amount indicated for each case. It can also be used in febrile states at the same dose.
