Espididol 400 mg, 18 Film-coated Tablets

Espididol 400 is a medicine in the form of ibuprofen tablets with arginine indicated to relieve painful symptoms of mild to moderate intensity, such as headache, menstrual pain, joint pain, muscle pain, among others. It is also used for feverish conditions.

It comes in a convenient pack of 18 coated tablets.

Espididol 400 mg in tablet form is intended for use by adults over 12 years of age.

For adults over 12 years of age and adults, take 1 tablet of Espididol every 6-8 hours, not to exceed 1200 mg of ibuprofen per day. It should be taken on a full stomach with food.

In patients with impaired renal, cardiac or hepatic function, a doctor should be consulted for possible dose adjustment.

Espididol tablets are contraindicated in the following cases:

• In children under 12 years of age.
• Pregnant women in the third trimester.
• In case of allergy to ibuprofen or other excipients contained in this medicine, as well as in patients with asthma, rhinitis, angioedema or nasal polyps.
• In patients with recurrent gastrointestinal ulcer, history of gastrointestinal bleeding, severe heart failure, hepatic and renal failure.
• Special care should be taken in patients with hypertension as it may increase blood pressure.

Special care should be taken with Espididol tablets if you are taking any of the medicines listed below, and consult a doctor before administration:Baclofen, chloramphenicols, loop diuretics, antihypertensives, hydantoin, tacrolimus, furosemide, methotrexate, pentoxifylline, hypoglycaemic agents, among others.

Herbal extracts such as Ginkgo biloba may also interfere, as they may increase the risk of bleeding from NSAIDs.

Avoid alternate use with salicylates such as salicylic acid and its derivatives due to risk of haemorrhage.

As with all medicines, side effects may occur with Espididol tablets, although not all patients will experience them. In this case, the following have been observed:

• The most common are headaches, skin rash and itching, gastrointestinal discomfort, dyspepsia and vomiting.
• Infrequently: asthma, allergic reactions such as bronchospasm, rhinitis, asthma, oedema, dyspnoea, heart failure, visual disturbances, hypertension, among others.
• Very rare: thrombocytopenia, leukopenia and haemolytic anaemia.

Each tablet of Espididol with arginine contains 400 mg of Ibuprofen as the active substance. The other excipients are: Sucrose 6.7 mg, Sodium 82.7 mg, Sodium hydrogencarbonate, Crospovidone Magnesium stearate,Hypromellose (E464), Sucrose, Titanium dioxide (E171), Macrogol 4000.

Espididol is an anti-inflammatory indicated for painful and inflammatory processes. Therefore, if you have any type of muscular pain, pain due to sprained ankle, contracture, or pain due to an inflammatory or dental process, take Espididol with ibuprofen every 6-8 hours, without exceeding the maximum daily amount indicated for each case. It can also be used in febrile states at the same dose.
