Instructions for use of the 50 OneTouch Verio test strips To use these test strips correctly, they must be used in conjunction with one of the OneTouch Verio blood glucose monitors or monitoring systems. Below are the steps to follow to use the strip correctly and obtain an accurate reading: Firstly, the test strips must be stored in the vial, which should only be opened when you are ready to remove one. Once a test strip has been removed, it must be inserted into the meter using the port provided on the meter. Insert it with the gold-coloured side facing the meter and the silver-coloured side tabs facing outwards or towards the person taking the test. Wait until the meter switches on and the ‘apply blood’ signal appears on the screen. Place the blood sample over the opening of the channel. Hold the meter at an angle to guide the drop of blood through the channel until it turns red and is completely filled. Once the channel is red, the meter should display the result after a few seconds. Blood must not be applied to any other part of the test strip, as this would render the sample ineffective and another strip would have to be used. Contraindications No specific contraindications have been reported for this product. It is important always to store the test strips in their original vial and to keep it tightly closed after each use. Do not reuse the test strips or place used strips back into the vial. Do not swallow the test strips or the desiccant contained in the vial.
