Dulcolax is a laxative medicine that stimulates the nerve endings in the wall of the intestine, increasing its motility. It is therefore used to relieve occasional constipation.
It comes in a pack of 6 suppositories.
Suitable for use in adults and children over 10 years of age.
Administer 1 suppository, inserting it into the rectum through the pointed end. The effect of the medicine appears between 10 and 30 minutes after application.
Do not use Dulcolaxo Bisacodyl Suppositories:
In children under 10 years of age.
In case of allergy to any of the ingredients of this medicine.
If you suffer from intestinal obstruction, paralytic ileus, if you have appendicitis or intestinal perforation, gastrointestinal bleeding or inflammatory bowel disease, or if you have haemorrhoids or anal fissures.
Like all medicines, Dulcolax suppositories may cause side effects:
Frequent adverse reactions: abdominal pain, diarrhoea, abdominal and/or anorectal discomfort, abdominal pain or cramps.
Very frequent adverse reactions: flatulence, abdominal distension, dehydration.
The active substance in Dulcolaxo Suppositories is bisacodyl. Each suppository contains 10 mg of bisacodyl. The other ingredients are: solid semi-synthetic glycerides q.s.
This medicine comes in the form of yellowish-white suppositories.
If defecation does not occur within 12 hours of taking this medicine or if symptoms persist after 7 days of treatment you should consult your doctor.
