Dulcolax is a laxative medicine, which is used to relieve the symptoms associated with occasional constipation in adults and children over 10 years of age. It is also known by its former name, Dulcolax.
It contains 30 tablets.

Dulcolax is a laxative medicine that stimulates the movement of the intestinal wall to facilitate the elimination of feces and solve occasional constipation problems. Formerly known as Dulcolax.
Intended for use in adults and children over 10 years of age who want to relieve the symptoms associated with occasional constipation problems.
Take 1 Dulcolax tablet a day, preferably at bedtime. If necessary, two tablets should be taken, taking into account that the lowest effective dose should be used.
Children between 2 and 10 years of age should only take this medicine under medical supervision.
Do not use Bisacodyl:
Dulcolax tablets may cause side effects, as with all medicines, but this does not mean that everyone will experience side effects. In particular, the following side effects have been observed:
- Very common: diarrhoea, abdominal pain.
- Frequent: digestive disturbances, abdominal discomfort, bloating, flatulence, anorectal discomfort, haematochezia, bloody stools, colitis.
- Rare: allergic reactions, skin rash, dehydration and swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue or throat which may cause difficulty in swallowing or breathing (angioedema).
Each gastrointestinal tablet of Dulcolax contains 5 mg of bisacodyl as the main active substance. The other excipients are: sucrose, lactose, maize starch, glycerol (E-422), magnesium stearate, talc, gum arabic, titanium dioxide (E-171), copolymer of methacrylic acid and methyl methacrylate (1:1), copolymer of methacrylic acid and methyl methacrylate (1:2), castor oil, macrogol 6000, iron oxide yellow (E-172), white wax, carnauba wax and shellac.
Dulcolax 5 mg is a contact laxative; it is recommended to take it without chewing, preferably late in the day, with plenty of water, and to avoid taking it with foods such as dairy products or proton pump inhibitors.
