Tablets for the treatment of diarrhoea when associated with stomach cramps, bloating and gas.
Contains 12 tablets.
Fortasec Plus is a medicine formulated with loperamide, an active ingredient used to control diarrhoea, and simethicone, which is used to break up gas in the intestine.
It is therefore indicated for the treatment of diarrhoea with cramps, bloating and gas.
It is intended for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
Follow exactly the instructions for use given in this leaflet or as directed by your pharmacist. If in doubt, ask your pharmacist.
Adults: take 2 tablets initially and then one after each bowel movement, up to a maximum of 4 tablets a day. If symptoms continue after more than 2 days, stop treatment and consult your doctor.
Adolescents between 12 and 18 years of age: start treatment by taking 1 tablet and then one tablet after each bowel movement. If symptoms continue after more than 2 days, stop treatment and consult your doctor.
Do not use Fortasec Plus in case of: high fever, blood in stools, ulcerative colitis, severe diarrhoea after antibiotics, constipation or stomach swelling.
Like any medicine, it is contraindicated in people with allergy to its active substance or any of its excipients.
Do not administer to children under 12 years of age.
During pregnancy, always consult your doctor before using this medicine.
Not recommended for use while breast-feeding.
Like all medicines, Fortasec Plus can cause side effects. This does not mean that everybody will experience side effects.
If any side effects occur, stop taking the medicine and consult your doctor.
The most common side effects are: headache, feeling sick, change in taste.
Rare: drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, constipation, dry mouth, vomiting. .....
The active substances in Fortasec Plus are: loperamide hydrochloride (2 mg per tablet) and simethicone (measured as 125 mg dimethicone per tablet). The otheringredientsare: hydrogenated calcium phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose, acesulfame potassium, vanilla artificial flavouring (includes propylene glycol, maltodextrin, ethanol and benzyl alcohol), sodium carboxymethyl starch (type A) and stearic acid.
These white capsule-shaped tablets do not require special storage conditions and should be taken whole with a glass of water.
Do not take more tablets than recommended.
