How to heal mouth ulcers

Mouth ulcers are wounds that appear inside the oral cavity, usually on the lips and cheeks, and are also known as canker sores. Do you know what causes them? We explain this and how to heal mouth ulcers in today's post. Keep reading!

Mouth ulcers or canker sores are rather annoying lesions that appear inside the mouth, causing pain, burning, a tingling sensation and, in some cases, even fever.

But do not panic. Although they bother us for a couple of days, mouth ulcers are not contagious, tend to disappear easily and are not usually a serious problem.

Causes of mouth ulcers

There are several causes behind the appearance of canker sores or mouth ulcers, such as:

  • Mouth injuries: bites, rubbing from dentures or orthodontics are some of the causes of these ulcers. Those who wear or have worn braces will know what we mean.
  • Bacterial infection
  • Nutritional deficiencies: a lack of vitamins, iron and other minerals can weaken the immune system and prevent it from protecting the body properly. This is why these ulcers may appear in response to a lack of nutrients.
  • Stress: anxiety, nerves or a very busy lifestyle can also weaken the immune system which, as mentioned, can lead to the appearance of mouth ulcers or canker sores.

How to heal mouth ulcers quickly: tips and products

Although they disappear a few days after appearing, there are several products that help prevent, soothe and heal mouth ulcers quickly and easily. Want to know which products we mean?

Oddent Oral Gel 20 ml

This means it can be applied several times a day (3 to 5 times), after main meals, massaging the area to be treated with clean fingers. Everything you need to know about Oddent Oral Gel by clicking.

Treatment to heal mouth ulcers in children

Yes, there are also specific products for little ones, both children and babies.

These products work both to prevent the appearance of these ulcers and as a treatment once they have appeared.

Below, we introduce some of them.

Oddent Oral Gel Junior 15 ml

And for little ones? Oddent Oral Gel Junior. It is also formulated with hyaluronic acid to soothe discomfort and repair the damaged area.

It also has anti-inflammatory properties that support fast, simple healing. As for how to use it, just like Oddent Oral Gel, apply it with your fingers 3 to 5 times a day until the ulcer disappears completely.

Oddent Oral Gel Baby 20 ml

In this case, the product is more geared towards babies at an early age who usually present symptoms of a small mouth ulcer.

We all know that at very young ages, little ones tend to put all kinds of objects in their mouths. This is one of the main problems that causes the appearance of canker sores or ulcers on the lip, mouth or even tongue.

Its application is practically the same as that of Oddent Oral Gel Junior. In this case, the gel forms a protective layer over the teeth and gums, preventing mouth ulcers from affecting oral health during the appearance of their first teeth and the teething process.
