When we talk about a body care routine, we are not only referring to daily skin cleansing or hydration, but also to protection. Why? Because it is not only the skin on the face that ages, becomes irritated or is exposed to external aggressors. The skin on our body also suffers the effects of time, leading to the appearance of dark spots in areas such as the neckline or legs, dehydration, skin problems and the consequences of solar radiation, pollution and more.

Body care: what you need to know

As with the face, the body also needs a daily care routine that cleanses deeply, removing traces of dirt and sweat that cling to the skin, but always using specific products. Any soap we have at home will not do.

Why? Overexposure to water, changes in temperature, drying ourselves roughly after a shower or using aggressive products can weaken the skin's barrier function and dry it out. That is why it is so important to know what skin type we have and what it needs.

5 essentials you need to know for body care

In addition to using specific products, as mentioned above, patting the skin dry and avoiding overly long showers, these are the 5 essentials for body care you should follow. Take note!

  • 1st essential: include body care products formulated with lipid-replenishing ingredients in your routine. This also helps reduce the amount of lipids lost during cleansing.
  • 2nd essential:hydrate your skin every day, all year round. It is not enough to do it in winter because your skin feels drier, or only in summer because you are exposed to the sun. Our skin needs constant hydration, as this helps protect it and encourages orderly desquamation, meaning we shed only dead cells.
  • 3rd essential: do not forget more punished areas such as the hands, feet or elbows. Hydrate them deeply and, in the case of hands and feet, use products designed specifically for their care.
  • 4th essential: adapt your care routine according to the time of year. Choose richer textures during the colder months and lighter textures in warmer months. Your body will notice it... and thank you for it.
