Instructions for use

To use a lancet, select the puncture site: the middle or ring finger for adults and children over one year of age, or the medial or lateral plantar surface of the heel for infants under one year of age. Disinfect the area with alcohol and allow it to dry. Remove the protective cap and press the lancet firmly against the site until a click is heard. Discard the used lancet in a sharps container. Wipe away the first drop of blood and then collect the required blood sample. Apply firm pressure to the site to stop the bleeding. Wash hands and prepare a safety lancet. - Clean the puncture site and allow to air dry, then remove the protective cap from the lancet. - Place the raised white end of the lancet over the test area. - Gently push the lancet against the test site to activate the lancet. - Wait for the blood to flow naturally. If there is insufficient flow, gently press the base of the finger to assist blood flow. - Discard the used lancet in a sharps container.
