What is it and what is it for?

Glucoject Lancets Plus 33 G 50 Lancets are small medical instruments used to obtain blood samples for immediate analysis from finger capillaries. They are similar to a small scalpel but come with an ultra-thin needle bevelled on three sides and a protective cap. These lancets are also often used to prick the skin during allergy testing. They are called lancing instruments and are useful for regular monitoring of blood glucose levels.

These samplers are used to test various blood components, such as haemoglobin, lactate, glycolysed haemoglobin, among others. Instruments such as the Glucoject Lancets Plus 33 G are in common use, as the number of people suffering from diabetes and requiring frequent self-testing of glucose is very high. They have also been developed with user safety and ease of use in mind, in order to avoid risks of accidents, contamination or infections.

These Glucoject lancets come with a reusable cap that preserves the needle after the puncture to protect the user from accidental punctures after taking the sample or discarding the lancet. With them there is minimal risk of cross-contamination occurring. Regardless of whether it is for the same person, each lancet should be discarded after the first use. These lancets with a size of 33 G allow a sufficient amount of blood to be obtained and due to their small calibre the pain of the puncture is much less. The greater or lesser length of the lancet represents the depth of the incision and the more or less blood sample obtained. It is important to know that this measure decreases as the number increases, i.e., a number 23 will have a greater length and thickness than this one, which is 33G.

Who is it suitable for?

These lancets are indicated for obtaining blood samples in people who suffer from diabetes or who have to self-test every so often during the day.

Instructions for use

Insert the lancet into the lancing device. Then remove the protective cap by unscrewing it and separating it from the lancet body. The puncture is performed and the protective cap is replaced to dispose of the lancet safely.
