Omereflux Omeprazole 20 mg, 14 hard gastro-resistant capsules is a medicine used to reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach. It is therefore indicated in cases of acid reflux or regurgitation.

It is indicated for adults over 18 years of age who have an upset stomach and preferably under medicalprescription , as it is not a stomach protector , nor is it a preventive medicine for symptoms or conditions.
It is an oral medicine . It is recommended to be taken in the morning. One capsule a day. It could be taken either with food or on an emptystomach.
The capsule should be swallowed whole, without splitting, opening, chewing or crushing.
If you are allergic to omeprazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine,
If you are allergic to medicines containing proton pump inhibitors (e.g. pantoprazole, lansoprazole, rabeprazole, esomeprazole).
If you are taking a medicine containing nelfinavir (used for hiv infection ).
If you notice any of the following rare but serious side effects, stop taking Omereflux and seek medical advice immediately:
Sudden wheezing when breathing (sudden wheezing), swelling of the lips, tongue and throat or body, skin rash, fainting or difficulty swallowing (severe allergic reaction).
Reddening of the skin with blistering or peeling. Severe blistering and bleeding from the lips, eyes, mouth, nose and genitalsmay also occur. This could be "Stevens-Johnson syndrome" or "toxic epidermal necrolysis".
Yellowing of the skin, dark urine and tiredness, which may be symptoms of liver problems.
Other side effects include:
Headache.
Effects on the stomach or intestine: diarrhoea, stomach pain, constipation and gas (flatulence).
Nausea or vomiting.
Benign polyps in the stomach.
Swelling of the feet and ankles.
Sleep disturbances (insomnia).
Dizziness, tingling sensation, drowsiness.
spinning sensation (vertigo).
Changes in blood tests used to check liver function.
Skin rash, itching and rashes.
Feeling of general malaise and lack of energy.
Blood problems, such as a decrease in white blood cells or platelets. This can cause weakness or bruising and increase the chance of getting infections.
Allergic reactions, sometimes very severe, including swelling of the lips, tongue and throat, fever and wheezing.
Low sodium concentration in the blood. May cause weakness, vomiting and cramps.

Taste alterations.
Visual problems, such as blurred vision.
Sudden feeling of shortness of breath (bronchospasm).

Infection called 'candidiasis' which can affect the gut and is caused by a fungus.
liver problems, such as jaundice, which can cause yellowing of the skin, dark urine and tiredness.
Hair loss (alopecia).
Skin rash on exposure to sunlight.
Joint pain (arthralgias) or muscle pain (myalgias).
Severe kidney problems (interstitial nephritis).
Increased sweating.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before you start taking Omereflux.
Do not take Omereflux for more than 14 days without consulting your doctor. If you do not experience relief, or if you feel your symptoms worsen, consult your doctor.
Omereflux may mask the symptoms of other illnesses. Therefore, consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following conditions before you start taking Omereflux or during treatment:
You lose a lot of weight for no apparent reason and have trouble swallowing.
You have stomach pain or indigestion.
You start vomiting food or vomiting blood.
Your stools are black (bloody stools).
You have severe or persistent diarrhoea, as omeprazole has been associated with a slight increase in infectious diarrhoea.
You have a history of gastric ulcer or gastrointestinal surgery.
You are receiving ongoing treatment for indigestion or heartburn for 4 weeks or more.
You have had indigestion or heartburn continuously for 4 weeks or more.
You have jaundice or severe liver disease.
You are over 55 years of age and your symptoms have recently changed or are new.
If you have ever had a skin reaction after treatment with a medicine similar to Omereflux to reduce heartburn.
You are scheduled to have a specific blood test (Chromogranin A).
If you develop a skin rash, especially on sun-exposed areas of the skin, consult your doctor as soon as possible, as it may be necessary to stop treatment with Omereflux. Remember to mention any other symptoms you may notice, such as joint pain.
Patients should not take omeprazole as a preventive medication.
When taking omeprazole, inflammation may occur in the kidney. Signs and symptoms may include decreased urine volume or blood in the urine and/or hypersensitivity reactions such as fever, rash and joint stiffness. You should report these signs to the doctor treating you.
The active substance is omeprazole. Each capsule contains 20 mg omeprazole.
Sugar spheres (sucrose and maize starch), hypromellose, talc, titanium dioxide (E-171), disodiumhydrogen phosphate dihydrate, methacrylic acid copolymer and ethyl acrylate ( sodium lauryl sulphate, polysorbate 80 and triethyl citrate).
The gelatine capsule consists of: titanium dioxide (E-171), Ponceau 4R (E124) and gelatine.
If there is no improvement within 14 days, it is advisable to consult a doctor.
It is not a preventive medicine, so it should not be taken to prevent stomach"pain" when we are going to eat certain foods or drinks.
It is not a stomachprotector .
