What is Nicorette Bucomist Fruit MintSpray for ?

Nicorette Bucomist fruit and mint flavouredsprayrelieves the withdrawal symptoms of quitting smoking by delivering a small amount of nicotine to the body for a short period of time. This type of treatment is called nicotine replacement therapy (NRT).

Who is Nicorette® intended for?

Nicorette® BucoMist belongs to the group of medicines used as a smoking cessation aid when there is an intention to stop or reduce smoking before quitting for good.

This type of treatment is called nicotine replacement therapy (NRT).

Nicorette® BucoMist relieves the withdrawal symptoms of quitting smoking, including cravings. When nicotine from tobacco is suddenly withdrawn from the body, various unpleasant sensations can occur, which are collectively called withdrawal symptoms.

The use of Nicorette® BucoMist can prevent or reduce withdrawal symptoms, including cravings. It works because Nicorette® BucoMist continues to deliver a small amount of nicotine to the body for a short period of time.

Nicorette® BucoMist does not contain tar, carbon monoxide or other toxins present in tobacco. To increase your chances of quitting, it is important to get advice and support. You should consult a doctor if you get worse or if you have not been able to quit for good after 6 months.

How to take Nicorette spray

How you useNicorette Bucomist Fruit & Mint spray depends on whether you are cutting down on cigarettes or whether you want to quit immediately.

If you want to stop smoking immediately:

Use no more than 2 sprays at a time or 4 sprays per hour for 16 hours. The maximum dose is 64 sprays over 16 hours in any 24-hour period.

  • Phase 1 (weeks 1-6): 1 or 2 sprays when cravings appear. For most smokers this means 1 or 2 sprays every 30-60 minutes.
  • Phase 2 (weeks 7-9): start reducing sprays per day. By the end of week 9 you should have reduced your sprays to half of what you were using in the previous phase.
  • Phase 3 (weeks 10-12): continue to reduce until no more than 4 sprays per dayare used . When you manage to use 2 to 4 sprays a day, stop using this medicine.

If you want to stop smoking gradually, use 1-2 sprays instead of a cigarette to help reduce smoking.

How to use Nicorette Bucomist spray?

To use Nicorette Bucomist Fruit Mint correctly , slide down the button so that you can press slightly inwards, while pressing slide up to open the top of the dispenser.

Once ready, you should charge the device by spraying two or three sprays into the air, then point the nozzle into the mouth. Do not inhale while spraying or swallow immediately after spraying.

To close the device, slide the top down and then release.

Contraindications

Do not use Nicorette Bucomist Oral Spray:

  • In children under 18 years of age.
  • In patients with allergy to any of the ingredients of this medicine.

Precautions

With special caution during pregnancy and breast-feeding, you should consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Nicorette Bucomist Fruit-Mint may cause side effects. This does not mean that all patients will experience side effects. In this case, the following adverse reactions have been observed:

  • Frequent: Hiccups, headache, nausea, throat irritation, burning sensation in the mouth, dyspepsia, fatigue, tiredness, irritability, aggressiveness, impatience, anxiety, sleep disturbances, weight gain....

Composition

The active ingredient in Nicorette Bucomist spray isnicotine. Specifically, one spray delivers 1 mg of nicotine. The other excipients are: propylene glycol (E1520), anhydrous ethanol, tromethamol, poloxamer 407, glycerol (E422), sodium hydrogencarbonate, levomenthol, red fruit flavouring, refreshing flavour, sucralose, acesulfame potassium, butyl hydroxytoluene (E321), hydrochloric acid and purified water.
