Warnings and precautions :

If symptoms worsen or persist for more than two weeks, the clinical situation should be evaluated.

Children and adolescents

Do not administer to children under 12 years of age without consulting a doctor.

Taking VALERIANA LEO with other medicines

Tell your doctor or pharmacist that you are taking, have recently taken or may need to
take any other medicines.
Due to its activity, it is possible that this medicine may enhance the effects of other central nervous system depressants such as barbiturates (e.g. mephobarbital, pentobarbital, phenobarbital) and benzodiazepines (e.g. diazepam, alprazolam, triazolam, chlordiazepoxide hydrochloride).

so if the patient is being treated with any of these, the doctor should assess the need for this medicine.
Hawthorn may potentiate the effects of digitalis medicines such as digoxin, digitoxin and strophanthin. If you are being treated with any of these medicines, consult your doctor before using this medicine, in case the doses of digitalis need to be adjusted.

Taking VALERIANA LEO with food and drink

Alcohol may increase the sedative effect, so it should not be taken with alcoholic drinks.

Pregnancy, lactation and fertility

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or intend to
become pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
As a general precaution and because there is insufficient clinical information on its use during pregnancy and breast-feeding, its use is not recommended in these situations, unless better medical advice is sought.

Driving and use of machines

This medicine may make you sleepy. Do not drive or use machines if you feel drowsy or if you notice
that your attention and ability to react are reduced.

VALERIANA LEO contains castor oil, sorbitol and sucrose.

This medicine may cause stomach upset and diarrhoea because it contains castor oil.
This medicine contains sorbitol and sucrose. If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to certain sugars, ask your doctor before taking this medicine.

The recommended dose for adults and children over 12 years of age is: Two-three tablets up to three times a day, between meals.
To help you sleep, it is recommended that you take two-three tablets half an hour before going to bed, and if necessary you can take another dose of two-three tablets in the middle of the afternoon.
The recommended treatment period is 4 weeks, however, if you notice that within 14 days your symptoms do not improve or worsen, you should consult your pharmacist or doctor.

If you take more VALERIANA LEO than you should :

In case of overdose or accidental ingestion of large amounts of VALERIANA LEO, go
immediately to a medical centre or call the Poisons Information Service, telephone:
915.620.420, stating the medicine and the amount taken.
