What is Lumobry and what is it used for?

Lumobry is a medicine used to relieve redness of the eyes when there is no infection. It contains brimonidine tartrate, which reduces the redness of the conjunctiva by constricting the blood vessels in the area.

Who can use this eye drops

This medicine is suitable for use in adults and children over 12 years of age.

How to use Lumobry eye drops

Lumobry is used directly in the eyes. If contact lenses are worn, they should be removed first. To open the eye drops, press the cap on the container and twist and then remove it. With the head tilted back, gently pull the lower eyelid to apply a drop to the lower eyelid. One drop should be applied to the eye to be treated every 6 to 8 hours. Do not use it more than 4 times a day. After application, keep the eye closed, pressing on the tear duct near the nose for 2 minutes. To keep the product in good condition, the cap should be tightly closed and hands should be washed after use.

Contraindications

Do not use Lumobry:

- If you are allergic to brimonidine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
- In children under 2 years of age.

Side effects

As with all medicines, Lumobry may cause side effects. In this case, the following have been found:

- Common side effects: redness of the eye, pain at the site of application.
- Rare side effects: dry eye, sensitivity to light, eye discharge, eye irritation, eye pain, foreign body sensation in the eye, irritation, itching or stinging at the site of instillation, headache, palpitation, redness of the eye.headache, palpitations, muscle twitching, lymphocytosis, monocytosis (high lymphocyte or monocyte count in the blood), nasal discomfort, hypotension (lowering of blood pressure).

Composition of Lumobry

The active substance is brimonidine tartrate. The other ingredients are:glycerol (E422), borax (E285), boric acid (E284), potassium chloride (E508), calcium chloride dihydrate, sodium chloride, potassium chloride (E508), borax chloride dihydrate, sodium chloride, bromine chloride (E285).chloride dihydrate, benzalkonium chloride, sodium hydroxide (E524), hydrochloric acid (E507), water for injections.

Pharmaceutical advice

If the redness persists for more than 3 days or worsens, you should stop using the medicine and seek medical advice. If you need to apply another product or medicine to your eyes, you should wait about 15 minutes between applications.
