Instructions for use Take 1 single tablet as soon as possible, within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. This medicine can be taken at any time during the menstrual cycle. Contraindications Do not use Levonorgestrel Aurovitas: In lactose or galactose intolerant, total lactase deficiency, glucose or galactose absorption problems. In women who have used enzyme inducing drugs during the last 4 weeks and who need emergency contraception. In such cases, consider the use of non-hormonal emergency contraception (i.e. a Cu-IUD). Do not take together with cyclosporines, barbiturates (including primidone), phenytoin, carbamazepine, herbal medicines containing Hypericum Perforatum (St. John's wort), rifampicin, ritonavir, rifabutin and griseofulvin. Side effects Like all medicines, Levonorgestrel Aurovitas may cause side effects. This does not mean that everybody will experience side effects. Specifically, the following have been observed: Very common: headaches, dizziness, nausea, abdominal pain, uterine pain, increased breast tenderness, delayed menstruation, heavy bleeding during menstruation. Rare: Diarrhoea, vomiting, dysmenorrhoea. Composition Levonorgestrel Aurovitas contains 1.5 mg of Levonorgestrel as the active substance. Excipients: Microcrystalline cellulose, Lactose monohydrate, Polocamer 188, Croscarmellose sodium, Magnesium stearate. If vomiting occurs within 3 hours of taking it, another tablet should be taken.
