Premenstrual syndrome or PMS is a disorder that occurs in the second half of the menstrual cycle, i.e. one or two weeks before menstruation and lasts until the first or second day of menstruation.

There is no single cause given the diversity of symptoms, but changes in hormone concentrations such as progesterone and oestrogen hormones and changes in neurotransmitters such as serotonin and endorphins have been observed.
Different experts recommend a series of guidelines for the habits and lifestyle of women with PMS that can help them to cope better with the symptoms, such as:
Healthy and balanced diet: avoid caffeine, salt and sugar and consume complex carbohydrates, omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, foods rich in antioxidants, a good supply of vitamins and minerals and hydration.
Moderate physical exercise or relaxation activities (yoga, meditation, etc. ....).
It may be useful to use a food supplement with natural plant extracts, vitamins, etc. to help the woman's general wellbeing.
On this last point, phytotherapy has proved to be a good natural alternative. It has been used for more than 500 years and is based on the use of certain plants with recognised beneficial medicinal properties.
