Daflon 500 mg 60 Tablets

Daflon is a venotonic medicine that relieves symptoms related to venous insufficiency by increasing the tone of the veins and the resistance of the capillaries (small blood vessels). It is very useful for solving the typical problems of swollen legs or varicose veins, as it relieves the feeling of tightness, heaviness or pain.

Daflon 500 is intended for adults in the following cases:

• Mild venous insufficiency of the lower limbs: Daflon is used to relieve symptoms such as pain, a feeling of heaviness, tightness, tingling and itching in legs with varicose veins or swollen legs.
• Haemorrhoids: Daflon reduces symptoms such as pain, swelling, itching and bleeding in cases of acute or chronic haemorrhoids.

In adults, the recommended dose is 2 tablets a day , one at midday and one in the evening, during meals. Relief should normally be felt within the first 2 weeks of treatment.

Among the contraindications of Daflon, the medicine should not be taken by persons under 18 years of age or in case of allergy to any of the components included in this medicine.

It is also not recommended for use in pregnant women or during lactation, due to the lack of data on the use of this drug.

Like all medicines, Daflon may cause side effects, which may include:

• Frequent: gastrointestinal disorders such as indigestion, diarrhoea, nausea or vomiting.
• Infrequent: colitis.
• Rare: nervous system disorders such as dizziness or headache, as well as skin reactions such as rash, itching or hives.
• Unknown frequency: oedema or swelling of the face, lips or eyelids, as well as abdominal pain.

Daflon 500 consists of purified flavonoids 500 mg as the main active substance. This active substance contains 450 mg diosmin and 50 mg hesperidin. The other excipients are: gluten-free potato sodium carboxymethyl starch type A, microcrystalline cellulose, gelatin, magnesium stearate, talc, sodium lauryl sulphate, polyethylene glycol 6000, salmon dry premix for coating*.

(*) The salmon dry premix consists of: titanium dioxide (E 171), glycerol, hypromellose, iron oxide yellow (E 172), iron oxide red (E 172), polyethylene glycol 6000 and magnesium stearate.

Daflon is a venotonic medicine with a micronised flavone fraction in the form of flavonoids and diosmin, oval, easy to take with water, indicated to relieve the symptoms of venous insufficiency that cause heaviness and a feeling of tired legs.
