The Covid-19 Nasal Antigen Test is a rapid test intended to detect the presence of SARS-CoV-2 virus antigens, the virus that causes Covid-19.

It is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 antigens, carried out using a small sample of nasal secretions; it is very simple and effective to use. Furthermore, it has the following characteristics: Sensitivity: 96.4%, Specificity: 99.0% and Accuracy: 98.2%.

Similarly, this is a single-use test with a high accuracy of 98.2%, manufactured by All Test, a supplier and registered trademark in Spain, which holds the relevant European regulatory certifications permitting its validation, distribution and sale to the public.

A positive result indicates the presence of the virus and therefore confirms an active infection.

Who is it intended for?

The Covid-19 antigen test is intended for people with suspected Covid-19 within 7 days of the onset of the first symptoms.

Instructions for use

To collect the sample:

1. Before taking the sample, it is recommended that you wash your hands and blow your nose several times.

2. Next, insert a sterile swab into the nostril (to a depth of at least 2.5 cm), rotating it 3 to 4 times throughout the nasal mucosa.

3. Swab the surface of the nasopharynx.

4. Repeat the previous step in the other nostril.

Sample preparation

1. Place the collection tube on the workstation. Add approximately 350 µl of collection buffer to the collection tube.

2. Insert the swab containing the sample into the collection tube, rotating the swab for approximately 10 seconds whilst pressing the tip against the inside of the tube to release the antigen from the swab.

3. Leave the swab inside the extraction tube for 1 minute.

4. Carefully remove the swab by squeezing the tube with your fingers.

5. Place the dropper cap on the extraction tube.

6. Place the cassette in a suitable location and dispense 3 drops of the sample into the sample well by gently squeezing the extraction tube.

7. Wait for the results.

After carrying out the test, wait between 15 and 20 minutes. The following indications will appear on the test cassette:

Positive: if two coloured lines appear, one in the control zone (C) and another in the test zone (T), the result is valid and positive. Please note that a positive result does not rule out infection with other pathogens.

Negative: if a coloured line appears in the control zone (C), but no coloured line is visible in the test zone (T), the test is valid and negative. Please note that a negative result does not rule out a viral infection with SARS-CoV-2 and, in the event of suspected COVID-19, the result must be confirmed by molecular diagnostic methods.

Invalid: if no coloured line appears in the control zone (C), the test is invalid and you must repeat the test using another test cassette.

Pharmacist’s recommendations

Children under the age of 14 must use this product under adult supervision.

The recommendation from the health authorities is to carry out the test when: there are symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or there has been close contact with a confirmed case for more than 15 minutes without protective measures.
