Lactoben is a supplement that serves as an aid to improve digestion for those who are lactose intolerant. Some people have an inability in their intestines to digest milk products.

This happens because the body does not have the capacity to transform lactose into sugars that can be absorbed by the intestine and it is all due to the lack of an enzyme called lactase, which is responsible for this procedure.

The body begins to progressively decrease the production of lactase after a period of breastfeeding, producing in a few minutes discomfort such as abdominal pain, vomiting, flatulence, diarrhoea, among others.

However, the situation is not as simple as excluding lactose from the daily diet, as this substance helps the growth and strengthening of bones and a greater absorption of calcium.

The consumption of a single capsule of this product helps the proper digestion of 200 grams of cow's milk, 800 g of fresh cheese, 2 yoghurts or 200 g of rice pudding.

Lactose can be found in many foods such as ice cream, purées, cold cuts, butter, yoghurts, drinks, instant soups, margarine, batter, whey, among others. It is even found in some medicines and products such as toothpaste.
