Calmagrip Forte is a combination of paracetamol (an analgesic that reduces pain and fever), chlorphenaminamaleate(an antihistamine that relieves runny nose) and caffeine. Its use is indicated for the symptomatic relief of catarrhal and influenza processes with fever, mild or moderate pain (such as headache), tearing and sneezing .

Suitable for use in adults and adolescents from 14 years of age.
Instructions for use
The contents of the sachet should be taken dissolved in half a glass of water.The recommended dosage varies according to the age of the patient:
Adults and adolescents over 14 years of age:1 sachet every 6 - 8 hours. Do not take more than3 g per 24 hours (1 day).
Over 65 years of age: Before taking this medicine you should consult your doctor because you may need lower doses as you are more sensitive to the adverse effects of chlorphenamine.

Precautions Patients with kidney or liver disease should consult their doctor before taking this medicine. Contraindications Aswith all medicines, Calmagrip Forte may cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Because of its paracetamol content, in rare cases, the following may occur: Kidney disorders, cloudy urine, allergic dermatitis (skin rash), jaundice (yellowing of the skin), blood disorders (agranulocytosis), and other side effects.(agranulocytosis, leukopenia, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, haemolytic anaemia) and hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar). Paracetamol can damage the liver when taken in high doses or in prolonged treatment. Serious skin reactions have been reported very rarely. The following adverse effects have been observed during the period of use of chlorphenamine, the frequency of which could not be established with certainty:drowsiness, sedation,dry mouth and throat (these effects are more likely to occur in elderly patients),gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation (these effects can be avoided by taking the medicine with milk or food),skin rashes. Rarely observed cases of: blurred vision, confusion, urinary retention, difficulty or pain during urination, (these especially in elderly patients), loss of appetite. A paradoxical effect of excitement, nervousness,nightmares may also occur, which has been observed more frequently in children and elderly patients. Blood disturbances, increased sweating, tachycardia. During the periodof caffeine use, the following adverse effects have been observed, the frequency of which cannot be established with certainty:nervousness, restlessness, irritation of the stomach or intestine, tachycardia. Compositio n Each sachet of Calmagrip Forte contains 650 mg paracetamol, 25 mg caffeine and 4 mg chlorphenamine maleate. The other excipients are: Colloidal anhydrous silica, anhydrous citric acid, saccharin sodium, sucrose (3.9 g), sodium cyclamate and orange flavouring. Sodium saccharin and sodium cyclamate provide 18.8 mg sodium. Pharmaceutical advice The administration of this medicine is subject to the onset of symptoms. As symptoms disappear, this medicine should be discontinued. If fever lasts longer than 3 days, or symptoms worsen or do not improve after 5 days, or other symptoms appear, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor.
