Detox diet: what you need to know

The first thing I’d like to point out, which many of you confuse, is that a detox diet is not aimed at weight loss, but at the cleansing and purification of our body, which for a time has been subjected to lots of saturated fats, heavy digestion, alcohol... In addition, another aspect that sets it apart from a diet for losing weight is that this detox routine is short-term. Normally, the former diet lasts for a longer period, whereas the detox should not go beyond one week. And now comes the million-dollar question from those of you who have already tried it: so how is it that after doing it I have lost weight? Very simple: because the right intake of minerals, vitamins and antioxidants means that our body loses weight. But that will be a consequence of hydration (through fruit and vegetable juices) and following a balanced diet. To do this, you should eat 4 to 6 meals a day. It is essential not to skip breakfast, as this is when we get the most energy to face the day, and to combine your diet with cleansing food supplements and sport or walking.

When should I do a detox plan?

As I was saying, there are times when our body is crying out for a detox, because of a fast-paced lifestyle, not watching what we eat, not following set meal times... This can lead to headaches, being overweight, tiredness, lack of energy and vitality, mood swings, and dull, lacklustre, dry skin. As well as other problems such as abdominal bloating, heavy digestion or constipation.
