Itching, irritation or stinging are some of the symptoms that show our baby is suffering from atopic dermatitis. Keep reading!According to data gathered bythe Spanish Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology(Seaic): Atopy affects more than 10% of childrenand can greatly reduce their quality of life, as well as that of their parents. It also adds thataround 30% of childrenwho suffer from this skin condition, continue to experience it in adulthood. This is why our little one needs a specific skincare routine.

Why protect and moisturise babies' skin?

The skin of little ones isvery delicate, soft and smooth, butat the same time it is elastic. For this reason, it is essential to maintain proper care and protection for their skin. In addition, babies' skin has a range ofcharacteristicsthat make it different from adult skin:

  • Thinner. It loses water and heat more easily.
  • Vulnerability to parasitic and infectious agents. This happens because babies' skin is less acidic, due to the low concentration of fatty and lactic acids.
  • Greater risk of developing skin conditions.Because their immune system is still immature.

What is atopic dermatitis in babies?
