What is Zenavan and what is it used for?

Zenavanis a topical gel medicine formulated with etofenamate, an active ingredient that acts as a local analgesic and anti-inflammatory . It is therefore used for the local relief of mild and occasional pain and inflammation caused by minor contusions, bruises, strains, sprains, torticollis or other contractures, low back pain and minor sprains caused by a sprain.

Who it is intended for

Suitable for use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.

Instructionsfor use

Apply 3 or 4 times a day a portion of Zenavan gel (corresponding to approximately 1.7-3.3 g of gel) on the affected area, massaging gently for absorption.

Contraindications or adverse effects

As with all medicines, Zenavan may cause side effects, although not everybody will experience them. In this case, the following have been observed:

• Rare: Reddening of the skin.
• Very rare:allergic skin reactions (itching, red skin, rash, oedema), bullous reactions including Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis.
• Frequency not known:allergic skinreaction due to sun exposure,
