Poorly cleaned contact lenses can cause dryness, irritation and even injury to the eye, so a cleaning solution like this one is essential for both permanent and disposable contact lens wearers.

The lens should always be handled with clean and disinfected hands. Once removed from the eye, the lens should be rinsed. The carrier case should be filled with the cleaning solution, adding enough liquid so that when the lens is immersed, it is completely covered. Once this has been done, the rinsed lens is inserted. The lens should not be rubbed, unless suggested by the optician; if so, only two or three drops should be added to the lens and rubbed gently for about 20 seconds. Then repeat the process with the second lens. The product should be changed every day to maintain proper lens hygiene.
It is necessary to leave the lens submerged for at least 6 hours, or overnight, for proper disinfection. Before putting in the lens, it should be rinsed with the same liquid. After this cleaning, the protein particles will have been removed. Soaps, disinfectants or, in general, other products not specifically designed for cleaning contact lenses should not be used during the cleaning process.
