Virbac Kidney Support for Dogs is a dietary food, with reduced phosphorus and restricted protein, indicated to support renal function in chronic (or acute) renal failure.

Virbac K1 Kidney Support has a diet low in carbohydrates and rich in protein, 20.5% protein, 70% of which is of animal origin.

Veterinary HPM nutrition is for specific use and should be prescribed by your veterinarian.

Reduced phosphorus content. The low phosphorus content of the diet helps to slow the development of kidney disease and minimises the risk of secondary hyperparathyroidism.

Restricted protein level. The restricted level of protein and its high quality help to reduce renal function disorders and maintain body condition.

Phosphorus chelator. The addition of chitosan and calcium carbonate help to reduce phosphorus availability (clinically proven by Virbac).

High energy concentration and excellent palatability. The high energy concentration helps to provide small daily rations and the high palatability helps to maintain sufficient feed intake for proper patient nutrition.

High content of omega-3 essential fatty acids (EPA-DHA). Elevated omega-3 levels help regulate inflammation in the kidney.

These prescription diets are based on a high-protein, low-carbohydrate formulation (RP-BC), with over 90% animal protein, nutrition tailored to the needs of the animal.

Virbac Veterinary HPM K1 provides a restricted level of protein for the correct management of chronic or acute renal failure.
