Veterinary HPM U2 Dissolution & Prevention is a dietary food, indicated for the dissolution of struvite stones, the reduction of the recurrence of inorganic phosphate stones, and the reduction of oxalate stone formation.It is a dietary food for dissolving struvite stones, reducing the recurrence of inorganic phosphate stones, and reducing the formation of oxalate stones.
Virbac U2 is a low carbohydrate, high protein diet with 44% protein of which 90% is of animal origin.
Veterinary HPM nutrition is for specific use and should be prescribed by your veterinarian.
Benefits
Increased water consumption. The high protein and sodium content stimulates water consumption by increasing the frequency and quantity of urination.
Rapid dissolution of stones and prevention of stone recurrence. The average healing time is 20.5 days, which means the disappearance of all clinical urinary and ultrasound signs and the absence of crystals in the urine analysis.
Optimises urinary pH. A urinary pH between 6.0 and 6.5 prevents the formation of struvite and oxalate crystals (efficacy demonstrated by Virbac).
Phosphorus chelator. The addition of chitosan helps to ensure that less phosphorus is eliminated in urine, thus reducing the risk of crystal formation.
Body weight control. The moderate energy concentration of the diet and the adapted daily rations help to maintain optimal body weight.
