Composition of the heat patch The heat cells contain iron (approximately 2 g per cell), activated charcoal, salt and water. These components generate heat when exposed to air. It is a CE-marked, Class IIa, non-sterile medical device. How to use ThermaCare Lumbar and Hip? Open the protective sachet just before use. Place the darker side of the cells against the skin and fasten the closure at the front. Wait up to 30 minutes for it to reach the intended temperature. Remove it after a maximum of 8 hours within a 24-hour period. Precautions during use Check your skin regularly and remove the patch if you notice excessive heat, irritation or a burning sensation.
