It has a waterproof pad that reduces the risk of moisture and bacteria entering the wound. It is also breathable and suitable for the treatment of chronic ulcers, wounds, burns, surgical incisions and other lacerations.

It is coated with an inert acrylic adhesive that is protected by paper to keep it sterile until use. In addition, it has a transparent, semi-permeable polyurethane backing that helps keep moisture and bacteria that could complicate recovery away from the wound.
