Sensodyne Cool Mint mouthwash 500 ml is a solution that is usually used after toothbrushing as a way to complement oral hygiene, as it helps to eliminate germs and bacteria. It also helps to counteract tooth sensitivity and distribute fluoride to remineralise teeth. Its main active ingredient is potassium nitrate, which helps to reduce dental pain. This is achieved because potassium nitrate protects the sensory nerves located at the top of the gums to relieve sensitivity. Tooth sensitivity can occur when tooth enamel deteriorates, causing the nerve cells to become irritated and the gums to become sensitive. Sensitivity is usually triggered by eating very cold, very hot foods or acidic tasting liquids.
