INFO AND TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Sensodyne Cool Mint mouthwash 500 ml is a solution that is usually used after toothbrushing as a way to complement oral hygiene, as it helps to eliminate germs and bacteria. It also helps to counteract tooth sensitivity and distribute fluoride to remineralise teeth. Its main active ingredient is potassium nitrate, which helps to reduce dental pain. This is achieved because potassium nitrate protects the sensory nerves located at the top of the gums to relieve sensitivity. Tooth sensitivity can occur when tooth enamel deteriorates, causing the nerve cells to become irritated and the gums to become sensitive. Sensitivity is usually triggered by eating very cold, very hot foods or acidic tasting liquids. Tooth sensitivity can also be caused by broken teeth, tooth decay or gum wear that exposes the nerve endings.

At that point, the potassium nitrate in this Sensodyne mouthwash works by seeping from the outside of the teeth and reaching the inner nerves of sensitive teeth. Once there, it helps block the signals that the gum nerves send to the brain. This mouthwash also incorporates sodium fluoride in its formulation, which helps prevent tooth decay. Fluoride is absorbed by the teeth, which helps strengthen them and makes them resistant to acid. It also serves to neutralise the action of bacteria and germs responsible for tooth decay. It should be clarified that mouthwash is not a substitute for brushing and flossing.
