AYURVEDIC KATAM HAIR TREATMENT
Katam is a dye plant that grows in Yemen. It is used to darken the hair. When added to Natural Copper Henna, brown tones are obtained. Chemical dyes can be a very aggressive treatment for the skin, often causing irritations, rashes, itching, etc. On the other hand, Katam, being a natural treatment, also cares for the skin by nourishing and moisturising it. So, as it has these healthy properties, Henna can be used by: People with sensitive skin Pregnant women Children Its duration will be between 1 and 2 months. The more applications of henna, the more vivid the colour will be. Katam can be added in small percentages to Henna to obtain violet or plum tones. But Katam, mixed in equal parts with Henna, becomes a dark brown, giving a result very similar to the colour of Chocolate.

Prepare the Natural Copper Henna paste. When the Henna paste is ready, mix the Katam in another container with warm water and let it stand for 10-15 minutes. Once the pastes are ready, mix them together to make one paste. The more Katam you add, the darker the brown colour will be. Apply the paste on dry and perfectly clean hair, in sections starting from the front and moving towards the back. Be sure to wear gloves, as you may stain your hands. Cover your hair with a towel and let it sit for 3-4 hours. Rinse or wash out the paste without shampoo. Apply a little balm, if necessary. A final rinse with water and vinegar or lemon water is recommended. One finger of vinegar or one lemon for half a litre of water. The hair colour will be noticeable within the next 2 days. Attention: It is recommended to do a first test on a strand, as each person reacts differently.
