Spirulina Platensis is a type of Cyanobacteria (formerly known as Blue Algae). In contrast to seaweeds, Spirulina, as a freshwater cyanobacterium, contains hardly any iodine. Its cells have no nucleus and the coating is so weak that its vitamins, minerals and nutrients are easily absorbed by the intestine. The dried powder contains up to 60% high-value, easily digestible protein. Spirulina contains various mineral compounds such as phosphorus, iron, magnesium, magnesium, manganese and zinc compounds, as well as more than 50 vital substances (vitamins, minerals and trace elements) and 18 essential and non-essential amino acids. Spirulina is rich in antioxidants and one of its pigments, phycocyanin, has been shown in scientific studies to prevent the growth of cancer cells.
