Copaiba is a non-thorny tree native to South America, from the Fabaceae family. Named Copaïba by the indigenous people of Amazonia, the latter use the oleoresin exuded from its trunk to treat wounds and ulcers. The oleoresin in question is called copaiba balsam and contains a high proportion of aromatic molecules. Steam distillation of this resin produces copaiba essential oil with one of the most unique molecular compositions, as it is the essential oil with the highest concentration of caryophyllene (up to 88 %). Copaiba balsam is used in refined perfumery. Its balsamic and woody scents are used to strengthen oriental or woody scented accords. Its relaxing, earthy fragrance, combined with orange and mandarin, provides balance and harmony.

Directions for use

Mix 3 to 6 drops of essential oil in a teaspoon (5ml) of jojoba vegetable oil. Apply this exceptional blend with a subtle natural scent by massaging locally on the affected areas, taking care to avoid mucous membranes and the eye area.
