INFO AND TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Antiparasitic treatment for dogs with, or at risk of, mixed infestations of fleas, biting lice, ticks, sand flies, mosquitoes and stable flies.
This veterinary medicinal product is only indicated when treatment against all of the following parasite species is required simultaneously.
For the prevention and treatment of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides canis, Ctenocephalides felis) and for the treatment of chewing lice infestations (Trichodectes canis) in dogs.

Directions for use

  • Long-lasting efficacy as a repellent and acaricide against tick infestations (Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Ixodes ricinus for four weeks, and Dermacentor reticulatus for three weeks).
  • Fleas: are killed within the first day following application of the veterinary medicinal product. A single treatment prevents further flea infestation for four weeks. The veterinary medicinal product may be used as part of a treatment strategy for flea bite allergic dermatitis (FAD).
  • By repelling and killing the vector Rhipicephalus sanguineus, the veterinary medicinal product reduces the likelihood of transmission of the pathogen Ehrlichia canis, thereby reducing the risk of canine ehrlichiosis. Studies have shown that the reduction in risk begins within three days of application of the veterinary medicine and persists for four weeks.
  • Ticks: any ticks already on the dog may not die within the first two days following treatment and may therefore remain attached and visible. It is therefore recommended that any existing ticks be removed from the dog at the time of treatment to prevent them from remaining attached and feeding on blood.
  • One treatment has a repellent (anti-feeding) effect against sand flies (Phlebotomus papatasi for two weeks and Phlebotomus perniciosus for three weeks), against mosquitoes (Aedes aegypti for two weeks and Culex pipiens for four weeks) and against the stable fly (Stomoxys calcitrans) for four weeks.
  • Reduction in the risk of infection with Leishmania infantum via transmission by sand flies (Phlebotomus perniciosus) for a period of up to three weeks. The effect is indirect, due to the veterinary medicinal product’s activity against the vector.

Contraindications

  • Do not use on puppies under 7 weeks of age or on dogs weighing less than 1.5 kg.
  • Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients.
  • Do not use on cats.
