Gelocatil 325 mg, 12 Sachets Granules

It is a medicine for paediatric use formulated with paracetamol that is used in the treatment of febrile states and processes that involve pain.

It comes in a convenient pack containing 12 granulated sachets.

Intended for use in children between 25 and 43 kg.

The dosage of Gelocatil paediatric is as follows: administer 1 sachet every 4-6 hours as needed.

In children with hepatic insufficiency, the maximum daily dose is 2 g per day, spacing the intakes at an interval of 8 hours.

For sore throat, it should not be administered for more than 2 days without medical evaluation.

Do not use Gelocatil 325 mg sachets:

• In children weighing less than 25 kg.

• In cases of hypersensitivity to paracetamol or any of the excipients, in hepatocellular disorders, or phenylketonuria.

• No problems have been reported in pregnant women, although a doctor should always be consulted before use.

• No problems have been reported in breast-feeding, although a doctor should always be consulted before use, as maximum concentrations of 10-15 microlitres/ml in milk 2 hours after ingestion have been found.

• A doctor should be consulted if you are taking medicines such as chloramphenicol, propranolol, probenecid, oral anticoagulants, anticonvulsants, loop diuretics, methotrexate, methotrexate, methotrexate, methotrexate and other drugs.The doctor should also be consulted if you are taking loop diuretics, metoclopramide, domperidone, rifampicin, lamotrigine, isoniazid, among others, as the plasma levels of these or of paracetamol may be affected, increasing or decreasing, causing toxicity or shielding the effect relatively.

Gelocatil sachets may cause side effects, as with all medicines. In this case, the following have been observed:

• Hypersensitivity reactions (urticaria, anaphylactic shock), general malaise, agranulocytosis, hypoglycaemia, increased transaminases, hepatotoxicity, cloudy urine, among others. It may also cause hypotension.

Each granulated sachet of Gelocatil paediatric contains 325 mg of paracetamol as the active substance. The other excipients are: 15.35 mg aspartame (E-951) 58.5 mg sodium, 4.86 mg sucrose, among others.

In case of fever or pain, administer Gelocatil granulate for children according to the instructions given in the instructions for use.

If the fever persists for more than 2 or 3 consecutive days, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor. On the other hand, if the pain persists for more than 5 days, discontinue treatment. In both cases, medical consultation and re-evaluation for treatment adjustment is required.
