It helps to loosen and remove accumulated debris through the application of the solution, massage and subsequent cleaning with gauze or cotton wool. Its antiseptic action complements ear hygiene. If the animal shows signs of pain, heavy discharge, a persistent foul odour or frequently shakes its head, it requires a veterinary examination. Apply a few drops into the ear canal or the inner part of the ear whilst holding the ear in place. Massage the base of the ear from the root towards the tip for at least 1 minute. Wrap a finger in gauze or a cotton wool ball and gently remove the mixture of solution and debris. Repeat the cleaning process until the gauze comes away clean. Also clean the folds of the outer ear. If necessary, the manufacturer recommends repeating the process once or twice a day for at least 10 days. If an ear infection has been diagnosed, follow your vet’s advice. For which animals is it suitable? Cl-Otovet is intended for ear hygiene in dogs and cats. Do not use it on other species or for any purpose other than ear care. If you suspect a perforated eardrum, notice blood or the animal is in severe pain, do not introduce any liquid into the ear without a prior veterinary examination.
