What is the Effitix XS pack used for? It is effective against adult fleas and ticks. Its long-lasting protection against new infestations lasts for 4 weeks. It also provides anti-feeding repellent activity against Phlebotomus perniciosus and the mosquitoes Culex pipiens and Aedes aegypti for 4 weeks. Repellency reduces contact with these vectors, but does not completely rule out the possibility of a bite or the transmission of infectious agents. It contains 0.088 mg of butylhydroxyanisole (E320), 0.044 mg of butylhydroxytoluene (E321), benzyl alcohol and diethylene glycol monoethyl ether. How should Effitix XS be applied? Weigh the dog to confirm that it weighs between 1.5 and 4 kg. Remove the pipette, hold it upright and snap off the tip along the indicated line. Part the fur until the skin is visible. Apply the contents at two points along the back, from the shoulders towards the base of the tail. Use an XS-sized pipette. The interval between applications should be at least 4 weeks. The specific frequency depends on the risk of exposure and the vet’s judgement. Which dogs is it suitable for? It is intended for dogs weighing between 1.5 and 4 kg. It must not be used before 12 weeks of age or on sick or convalescing animals. Possible adverse reactions In very rare cases, itching, redness or hair loss may occur in the treated area. Agitation, lethargy, tremors, vomiting or temporary salivation have also been reported if the dog licks the product. Contact your vet if you notice any signs.
