Open your pet's coat at the nape of the neck, until you can see the skin. Apply directly to the end of the pipette, emptying its contents completely by shaking it gently. You should apply the product in an area where your pet cannot lick itself or other animals can lick each other. Be careful not to get the product too wet on your pet's coat, as this may give it a sticky appearance. If this happens, it will disappear within 24 hours. Do not apply this product to lesions or wounds for any reason. Shampooing your pet one hour before applying this product will not affect the efficacy of the product.
However, avoid bathing or immersion in water for two days after application. For each weekly immersion in water for one minute, the period of efficacy against fleas is reduced by one week. This medicine does not prevent ticks from attaching to your pet. If your dog has previously been treated for tick exposure, ticks will die within 24-48 hours of attachment. Once dead, ticks usually fall off on their own, but any remaining ticks can be removed. Fleas on pets usually infest the basket and regular bedding areas such as carpets and mattresses. These can be treated using a suitable insecticide and regular vacuuming.
