What is Ebastine and what does it do?

Teva's ebastine is an anti-allergic medicine formulated with 20 mg of ebastine, an active substance belonging to the group of so-called antihistamines used to relieve nasalsymptoms (such as sneezing, nasal itching, runny nose, nasal congestion ) and eyesymptoms (such as red, watery eyes) associated with allergies. It is used to relievenasal symptoms (such as sneezing, nasal itching, runny nose, nasal congestion) and eye symptoms (such as red, watery eyes) associated with seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis. Ebastine 20 mg is therefore used to treat the symptoms of allergic rhinitis (seasonal or perennial), chronic urticaria or allergic dermatitis.

Ebastine for allergy comes in a pack of 20 tablets.

Ebastine or bilastine

The choice between bilastine and ebastine may depend on the individual patient's response. But what is the difference between ebastine and bilastine? Although both are safe for most allergic patients, bilastine has the particularity that its absorption is affected by food, so it must be taken on an empty stomach to ensure its efficacy.

Ebastine or cetirizine

Who it is intended for

Ebastine 20 mg How to take?

How to take ebastine? It is recommended to take 1 tablet of ebastinea day , with or without food and with the help of a glass of water.

How long does it take for ebastine to take effect? It usually starts to work within 1 to 3 hours after oral administration. It is therefore not recommended for use in acute allergic emergencies, as its action does not start immediately.

How many days should I take ebastine? The duration of treatment with the active substance ebastine depends on the reason for which it is prescribed and the course of symptoms. In the case of allergies with occasional symptoms (such as seasonal allergic rhinitis), it can be taken only for the days on which the symptoms appear. However, in cases with persistent symptoms, it can be extended for months, but always under medical supervision.
