What is the DFV Felv/Fiv test and what is it for?

The Dfv Test Felv/Fiv is an immunochromatographic diagnostic kit for cats to detect the presence of viruses causing Leishmania, Ehrlichia and Anaplasma.

Itdetects the p27 antigens of feline leukaemia virus FeLV and the antibodies produced against feline immunodeficiency virus FIV contained in the cat's blood, plasma or serum. This assay is performed by double immunochromatography on the device, making it possible to read results easily and quickly.

This Dfv method is highly reliable, as it has been designed with high technology to achieve optimal and highly accurate results, which will guarantee an early detection of these health problems in felines.

When a cat is infected with FeLV or FIV, its immune system produces high levels of p27 and FIV antibodies, thus becoming detectable in its blood. Consequently, a reading with this Dfv test will make it possible to detect the presence of one or both viruses.

In case of a positive result, it is recommended to seek veterinary advice for safe and effective treatment of the animal.

When testing, it is recommended to use serum, anticoagulated blood or plasma samples, avoiding clotted or heavily haemolysed blood samples. Once the diagnostic test is activated, the results will take exactly 10 minutes to be revealed.

Who is it indicated for?

The test for FeLV and FIV in cats is indicated for all types of cats with viral symptoms, ideal for early diagnosis of feline leukaemia and immunodeficiency.
