It has a strawberry flavour and comes in a convenient 125 ml bottle. Who it is intended for This product is intended for children from 2 to 11 years of age suffering from cold or flu symptoms. Directions for use The recommended dosage varies according to the age of the patient: Children 6-11 years: 5-10 ml (as needed) every 4 hours. Children 2-5 years: 2.5-5 ml (as needed) every 4 hours. Do not exceed a maximum of 6 daily doses. Contraindications Do not use Cinfatos Infantil: In children under 2 years of age. In patients with hypersensitivity to any of the active substances or excipients listed in the composition of this medicinal product. Avoid in asthmatic cough, productive cough, respiratory failure, hypertension, severe coronary heart disease. If there is previous or concomitant treatment with: MAOI or SSRI antidepressants, Bupropion, Linezolid, Procarbazine, Selegiline. In patients with atopic dermatitis, due to histamine release associated with the administration of dextromethorphan. Side effects Cinfatos Infantil Syrup may cause side effects, as with all medicines. Among the possible reactions, the following have been observed: nervousness, restlessness, anxiety, difficulty sleeping, muscle tremor, changes in the sense of taste. Composition Each ml of Cinfatos Infantil contains 1 mg Dextromethorphan hydrobromide as the main active substance. The other excipients are: Purified water, Citric acid monohydrate, Ponceau Red 4R (E-124), Sodium benzoate (E-211), Sorbitol 70% solution (E-420), Sodium saccharin (E-954), Sodium cyclamate, Strawberry flavouring. Pharmaceutical advice Use the measuring spoon for correct administration of the medicine and wash down after each dose. It is recommended to take during meals and drink a glass of water immediately afterwards. Do not take with grapefruit or orange juice. Drink plenty of water during the treatment, in order to hydrate the mucous membranes and thin the mucus to facilitate its expulsion. The last dose should be taken a few hours before going to bed to reduce the risk of insomnia. See your doctor if you do not improve within 5 days, or if your symptoms worsen during this time.
