The dosage of Bisolvon Compositum syrup depends on the age of the patient:

Children aged 6 to 11 years: 2.5 ml every 4-8 hours. Do not take more than 6 times a day.

From 12 years of age: 5 ml every 4-8 hours, not to exceed 6 daily intakes.

Contraindications

Children under 2 years of age are contraindicated.

Do not take this medicine if you are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitor antidepressants, serotonin reuptake inhibitor antidepressants, bupropion (drug used to stop smoking), selegiline (Parkinson's disease).

Pregnancy and breast-feeding: This medicine cannot be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding as it contains propylene glycol.

\n
Do not take this medicine with grapefruit juice or bitter orange juice as this may increase the side effects.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Bisolvon antitussive compositum may cause side effects:

Frequent adverse reactions: mental confusion, nausea, vomiting, constipation and fatigue.

Very frequent adverse reactions: dizziness, drowsiness.

Composition

The active ingredients are: dextromethorphan hydrobromide and diphenhydramine hydrochloride. Each ml contains 3 mg dextromethorphan hydrobromide and 1.5 mg diphenhydramine hydrochloride.

The other ingredients are: sodium benzoate (E211), citric acid monohydrate, sodium hydroxide, hydroxyethylcellulose, propylene glycol, raspberry flavouring, amaranth (E123), glycerol (E422), sorbitol (E420), purified water.
