What is Aurovitas Loperamide and what is it used for?

It isa medicine formulated with loperamide, an active substance that helps to stop diarrhoea by increasing the consistency of the stools and decreasing the frequency of liquid stools.

It comes in a pack of 20 hard capsules.

Who it is intended for

It is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of acute non-specific (occasional) diarrhoea in adults and children from 12 years of age.

Instructions for use

The capsules should be taken with a full glass of water. The dose of loperamide Aurovitas varies according to the age of the patient:

• In adults: take 2 capsules (4 mg) as a starting dosefollowed by 1 capsule (2 mg) after each diarrhoeal stool. The maximum dose for adults is 8 capsules (16 mg) per day.
• Adolescents from 12 years of age: give 1 capsule (2 mg) as a starting dose followed by 1 capsule (2 mg) after each diarrhoeal stool.
