3M Steri-Strip 1542IP-1 Reinforced Adhesive Skin Sutures 6x38mm, in presentation of 6 sutures, are skin sutures that have been manufactured to be able to close wounds atraumatically while minimising damage; in addition, the transparent dressing offers a waterproof cover for the wound. It provides optimal protection against viruses and bacteria by forming a film up to 27 nm in diameter while the dressing remains intact.

The adhesive plasters have been reinforced with polyester filaments making them stronger and increasing their tensile strength compared to classic sutures. It also improves aesthetic results, as its design is non-invasive and helps to reduce the appearance of scars, as well as the risk of infection. In addition, they generate less tissue injury and allow for better cosmetic results.

They are also able to keep wounds protected thanks to their innovative Steri-Strip technology which allows the patient to shower without any discomfort. Each suture can be used for up to 7 days. They consist of a non-woven, porous rayon backing covered with a hypoallergenic, pressure-sensitive, latex-free acrylate adhesive that allows the skin to breathe. Due to its sterility, it can be used for the fixation of vascular devices under sterile dressings.
